workshop is designed to help you make abstract art you feel happy about. You will use inks, acrylics, various mark
making tools to paint on a 16’x16” painting panel. And best of a

General Meeting and Officer Elections
Program – Jennifer Kirton will help us explore the illusion of translating an object from life to paper in a “round robin draw” using different techniques. Everyone will have a chance to explore and challenge themselves. We will supply paper and pencils.
Doors open at 6:30 to meet and greet. Vote for officers at 7 pm, Program begins at 7:15 pm.

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate. Ages: 14 & up

Class Description: Learn how to create a good solid drawing by focusing on accurate proportions, capturing those important shadow shapes and honing your rendering skills.

New Pottery classes begin January 8 and 9. Renee Matthews and
Rhonda Withers will teach hand building and wheel throwing. Classes meet twice a week for ten weeks and
are offered daytime and evening. Cost is $160 for SASi Members and $170 for
Non-Members. Included in cost: one bag of clay, use of studio tools and firing
of class projects. Additional clay may be purchased as needed.

Class Session #2 - April 9 – June 15
Class Session #3 - July 9 – Sept 14
Class Session #4 - Oct 1 – Dec 7

About our Classes and Workshops
Southern Arts Society offers a variety of classes and workshops for all skill levels. Please read the listing to know the skill level and age limits for the class. Please read the class description for a list of supplies required for the student to bring. If any materials are provided by the teacher, that will be listed as well.
Students should wear appropriate clothing for art classes, or bring an apron or smock to wear. Some paints and materials stain and cannot be removed from clothing. Please bring your own snacks or lunch, unless noted otherwise.
